And we're off.....

Full speed ahead! Just in these past two days, we have started many a new activity...
Gralynn started dance (tap/ballet). I wasn't sure she's like it since she was a ballet drop out last year, but ashe called my mom after her first class last night and said, "Mimi, I WAS BORN TO DANCE!" shocker....she IS my daughter, afterall. It's the choreographed dance that I'm sure she'll take to, but we shall see. She also started Soccer tonight and loves it. She won the "sharks and minoes" game b/c she said nobody was able to get the ball from her. I wasn't there for that part b/c I had to leave to go to her Pre-K meeting, which she starts tomorrow. But I'm happy she likes it. She is sooooo competitive. That, she gets from her dad, not me. On the way to the field I her saying in the car "Please God, please God, please God". I asked what she was saying and she said she was begging God to let her win! I explained it was a practice night and she wouldn't be playing in a game, but she still wants to be the best. I'm sure I'll have to do damage control when someone gets past her, but for now I'm happy she's happy.
Poor Gaines is just being dragged around and wants so badly to be involved.

As for me....well....this is the second full week of school and I have to say that today was really the firts day I can honestly say I think I am starting to love Kindergarten. I know the majority population believes K must be so easy to teach, but if any grade can run your ragged, it's K! It is the hardest job I have ever had! The needs and tudes of 5 year olds is exhausting, but I'm seeing spurts of sweet learning and growing already and it is really becoming quite fulfilling. I have a difficult class, as with each year, but I embrace the challenge and will do my best! Prayerfully, I will be able to sustain the role of "soccer mom" and do all I can to be the best with all my duties this year. As it turns out, I will have to take my two classes in the spring, so I know I will be super exhausted then, but I know all will be well. In the meantime, I'm enjoying being "that mom".

I want to know who thinks K is easy??? Just having a K'er in my house was exhausting! K teachers are amazing to be able to do what you do with those little ones, I know I couldn't do it, it definately takes a special kind! :)
