Out of the Loop

So Greg has had the Golf tourneys on constantly and I kept hearing this one guy's name that I recognized..Rocco Mediate. Turns out I taught his son, Rocco, my first and second year teaching in Jax Beach, FL. I held many a conference with the man and the Stepford wife, but never much knew he was a big time golfer. I knew he played, but I lived outside of Sawgrass, so who didn't? Anyhoo, apparently he wasn't "up to par" (hee hee) when I was a huge part of his family's life!! j/k
I don't consider athletes celebs. At least not the ones I'm obessed with. I prefer movie stars. So, just my luck that one of my very few contacts with any sort of famous person would be someone whom I did not even realize was famous! Oh, that same teaching experience I taught Kane Sears-- nephew of THE Dr. Sears. Didn't know he was big either! I just thought it wierd that youngest boy, Hobbie (as in the surfware) tried to enroll in Kindergarten and he was still brest-feeding, they all slept in The Family Bed, the were big-time naturalists/surfer dudes, hippies, etc and Kim, the mom kept getting on me about my diet (or lack of), even though I was early twenties and wore size 4!!!. She gave me a stack of nutritional books (autographed, "The Sears Family") Perhaps I need to dig up those ole Nutritional books, huh?
