So Katie started the Summer Praises, and I thought...what a great way to reflect on the good things. Sometimes we reflect too much on the negative and let's face it, we are truly blessed with a heck of a lot, so I'm going to start with that!
1. Family- as much as I have griped about a dirty house and being with the kids CONSTANTLY, I have to say that being able to hang out with two of the most amazing kids I know has been a trip. Gralynn is continously cracking me up with her advanced phrasing and "little miss" manurisms. Gaines is totally attached to me (literally) all day, but it's sweet how I am his world right now. We've had fun playing and cuddling and just hanging out. Greg has been amazing lately. He's working his butt off just so he can hand me a wad of cash and tell me to go guilt-free shop. He's in a happy place with his career and overall point in life. It's refreshing to see my man relaxed about bills and everything. He's planning a great trip to NY for the two of us and I can't wait to reconnect with him.
2. My sister and her kids have been here during their transition from Hawaii to Texas and it's been nice for all of us to visit. Gralynn has loved her time with Reese and Rynn and we are very excited to welcome girl #3 into our family in late September.
3. Church- I just love going. I love what I'm learning and experiencing God's love with all kinds of fabulous folks.
4. I'm super excited about teaching 2nd grade next year. I'm the wierdo who thoroughly enjoys the whole planning aspect of teaching. I'm getting two Autistic boys and I am so excited to welcome them into my class and get to know kids at a younger age.
5. I have a million house/hobby projects to work on. During the summer these tasks are more enjoyable and fulfilling rather than a chore.
6. I'm looking forward to meeting the new and improved Kerri! I mean, IF , no, no, no WHEN she arrives.
Now for the sad little update. Yesterday I walked a LONG way around my hood. Now, for those of you who have not been to my hood---it's hilly. So I go for the challenge. With a 10 year old double stroller (not the jogging one), a bad wheel that kept turning me astray, pushing both kids (a total of an extra ~60lbs) up and down hills. It was a sight, but I DID IT. Today is Saturday, and I did not engage in exercise aside from chasing Gaines everywhere and hiking up and down my stairs 100 times. Food--- well, still not much self-control there, but I'm working on it. I'm waiting on the Wii Fit so I can begin that little regimen. So, I don't weigh myself---I just get dressed and when I have the roll over, more work needs doing!
OK--I have many more blessings to report on, but those are the biggies. I encourage you to write yours too! I look forward to reading how the Lord has blessed you too, my friends!
